VAFCS Student Unit

Picture
The VAFCS and AAFCS Student Units promote the professional development of members who are students of family and consumer sciences or related fields through regular communications on association programs geared to students. Students join AAFCS at the student rate and become members of their state affiliate. Students maintain that student rate for one year after graduation. Go here for more information.

Full-time students in a post-secondary program are eligible for student
AAFCS and VAFCS membership.  Student dues are $50 annually.

Purposes of the Student Unit

  • Promote knowledge of content and capabilities of the Family and Consumer Sciences discipline.
  • Celebrate the past of Family and Consumer Sciences and sustain the future.

  • Make available the opportunity to meet and foster relationships with professionals in Family and Consumer Sciences and explore career opportunities.
  • Provide the opportunity for leadership development among members.
